10 Miles with Carly Rae Jepsen and Friends
GAH! I did it! I ran 10 miles tonight. I was planning on and hoping to do this run yesterday, but I mean, who was I kidding? 10 miles was never going to happen on Easter Sunday. Especially when I had to work that morning and there was cake waiting for me at home. I know, I know… Those are just excuses, and lame ones at that, but hopefully conquering this today makes up for that a little bit. I also wanted to try and get outside for this run, but my schedule today just made it easier for me to get it done on the dreadmill. Oh well.
Fun Fact: About 6 miles into this run, Jill posted this on my Facebook wall. Heck yeah!!!!

Another Fun Fact: I listened to Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” five times within the entire 93 minutes it took me to finish the 10 miles. Call Me Crazy (ha!), but honestly, that song is like the best kind of power-pop running music on crack. You could be on the verge of your last breath while running for your life from a moderately muscular, supermodel-status guy with a lawn mower and corny tattoos (I don’t know why you’re running for your life from him, but you are. It’s either because of the lawn mower or the generic, unoriginal tattoos.), but then this song comes on, and as long as it plays on an infinite loop, you’d be able to run forever and no one would ever catch you. Or like, it’s upbeat tempo and close-to-obnoxious pop aesthetic could just help motivate you to run the last few miles of a 10-mile run. Either or, really.
